Nitrado Setup

How to find your Nitrado API token and Service ID.

Vigil connects to your DayZ server through the Nitrado API. To do this, it needs two pieces of information from your Nitrado account: your API token and your Service ID.

Getting your API Token

Your API token is a private key that gives Vigil permission to read your server's log files and query its status. Treat it like a password — do not share it publicly.

  1. Log in to server.nitrado.net
  2. Click your profile icon in the top right
  3. Select API Tokens (or go to server.nitrado.net/en/user/oauth/tokens)
  4. Click Create Token
  5. Give it a name (e.g. "Vigil") and set the scope to include gameserver access
  6. Copy the token — you won't be able to see it again after leaving the page

Keep your API token private. Anyone with this token can read your server files and control your server. If you believe it has been compromised, delete it in the Nitrado dashboard and create a new one, then update it in Vigil.

Finding your Service ID

Your Service ID is the unique numeric identifier for your DayZ server on Nitrado.

  1. Log in to server.nitrado.net
  2. Go to your Services page
  3. Click on your DayZ server
  4. The Service ID is the number shown in the URL: server.nitrado.net/en/gameserver/XXXXXXX

It's also shown in the server overview panel, typically labelled Service ID or ID.

Entering your details in Vigil

When adding a server in Vigil:

  • Paste your API Token into the Nitrado Token field
  • Paste your Service ID (numbers only) into the Service ID field

Vigil will test the connection immediately. If it fails, double-check that:

  • The token has gameserver scope enabled
  • The Service ID matches the server the token is associated with
  • Your Nitrado subscription is active

One token per server

Each server in Vigil needs its own API token (or you can reuse the same token across multiple servers — Nitrado tokens are account-wide, not server-specific). If you run multiple servers, add each one separately in Vigil.
